Dementia STARs stands for Short Trainings in Awareness and Responsiveness.
The NZ Dementia Foundation Trust offer eight Dementia STARs modules. The content is pitched at a level that will be comfortable for all staff, especially kaiawhina (support-workers /care-givers).
Each module is introducing a person-centred approach to a key element of care when supporting people living with dementia. There are pre-recorded webinars which are very beneficial to any person providing care.
For residential care facilities, in each module they offer a facilitator’s kit for formal education session, with all the resources needed to run an engaging session.
It is free to register to access the resources. https://www.nzdementia.org/Dementia-STARs
